Seattle: Six Shot in 24 Hours as Police Hunt ‘Trigger Pullers’

Six people were shot in Seattle within a single 24-hour period, and Interim Police Chief Andre Sayles made clear that investigators are zeroing in on the known “trigger pullers” they believe are responsible.

According to KOMO News, Sayles said police “are looking for people who are known…’trigger pullers’ in our community.” The comment came as the city reeled from a string of shootings that left three people dead and two others wounded, including a teenager.

Three Shootings, Three Deaths in Under a Day

The violence began at 12:40 a.m. Sunday, when a fight broke out at a street takeover and shots rang out. Four people were initially reported shot in that incident, but Sayles later clarified that one of the individuals had not been struck by gunfire—the person was simply bloody from helping a shooting victim. One person died in that shooting.

Just over an hour later, at 2:00 a.m., a woman was discovered inside her car in Seattle’s Belltown neighborhood “with gunshot wounds to her head and torso,” according to the report. She was rushed to a hospital but died from her injuries.

Then, at 12:30 a.m. Monday, another shooting occurred, leaving a 17-year-old boy dead and a 21-year-old man in critical condition.

In total, six people were shot across the three incidents, with three fatalities.

Mayor Calls Weekend ‘Incredibly Tragic’

Seattle Mayor Katie Wilson (D) addressed the bloodshed, telling FOX 13: “This weekend, we’ve seen three people die which is incredibly tragic and my heart goes out to the victims and their families and I know that SPD is hard at work actively investigating and they’ll keep up apprised as they learn more.”

The mayor’s remarks underscored the toll the violence has taken on the city, even as law enforcement works to identify suspects.

Police Focus on Repeat Offenders

Chief Sayles’ reference to “trigger pullers” signals a targeted approach to the city’s gun violence, focusing on individuals already known to police as being prone to shooting. The term suggests a shift toward going after specific repeat offenders rather than treating each shooting as an isolated incident.
