A 34-year-old woman with a substantial TikTok following allegedly shot and killed her partner and her three young sons before taking her own life in Montemorelos, Mexico, last week, according to reporting from Breitbart News citing the New York Post and Oxygen.
The woman, identified as Cinthia Abigail Tamez Rivera — also known as Cindy Tamez — was found dead alongside her partner, 28-year-old Leodegario Moya, and her three children: 12-year-old Christian, 11-year-old Bruno, and 2-year-old Gustavo. The New York Post identified the victims.
The Attorney General’s Office of Nuevo León said a preliminary investigation indicates Rivera killed her partner and the children before dying by suicide, according to Oxygen.
A Social Media Presence and a Final Post
Tamez had built an audience of more than 95,000 followers on TikTok, where she posted regularly. Her final post, dated September 30, 2026, contained a message that now reads with unsettling weight: “Not everyone knows my s—t side. I am capable of burning down my house just to see the neighbor’s burning, even knowing that I’ll get f–ked too.”
The post, written in English, offered no indication of the violence that would follow just days later, though its tone — defiant, self-aware, and laced with a metaphor of mutual destruction — has drawn attention in the aftermath.
The shooting took place in Montemorelos, a city in the northeastern Mexican state of Nuevo León, an area that has seen its share of violence tied to organized crime but where family killings of this scale remain rare. Authorities have not released additional details about the weapon used or the sequence of events inside the home. The Nuevo León attorney general’s office described its findings as preliminary, leaving open the possibility that further investigation could refine the official account.
A Pattern of Family Violence in the Headlines
The case is the latest in a string of highly publicized family shootings that have made national news in both Mexico and the United States in recent days. On October 2, 2026, Breitbart News reported on a Houston, Texas, mother who allegedly shot her four-year-old daughter to death after losing custody of the child.
While the two cases are not connected, they share a grim familiarity: a parent, a firearm, and children killed in what authorities describe as acts of domestic violence that end in suicide or arrest.
Mexico has strict gun laws that make legal firearm ownership difficult to obtain, but illegal weapons circulate widely. The country has long struggled with high rates of femicide and domestic violence, though the overwhelming majority of such cases involve male perpetrators and female victims. When women are the alleged killers, the cases tend to draw intense media scrutiny, particularly when social media activity provides a window into the person’s state of mind.
In Tamez’s case, that window is her TikTok account, where a final message posted two days before the killings now serves as an eerie artifact. The post’s phrasing — suggesting a willingness to destroy herself in order to harm someone else — has been widely shared since news of the deaths broke.
Investigation Continues
The Nuevo León attorney general’s office has not said whether it is investigating a possible motive or whether Tamez had a history of mental health struggles or domestic disputes. Officials have also not indicated whether anyone else was present in the home at the time of the shootings.
Montemorelos, a municipality of roughly 60,000 people about an hour’s drive south of Monterrey, is perhaps best known for its citrus industry and its relative calm compared to other parts of Nuevo León. The killings have shaken the community, though local officials have released few public statements.
Funeral arrangements for Moya and the three boys have not been publicly announced. Tamez’s TikTok account remained online as of this week, with her final post still visible to her tens of thousands of followers.
The case remains under investigation by authorities in Nuevo León.
