Republican Rep. Jodey Arrington of Texas says President Donald Trump is effectively on the ballot this November — not by name, but by stakes. If Democrats win back the House, Arrington argued, impeachment proceedings would become a near-daily occurrence.
Appearing Friday on Fox Business Network’s “Mornings,” Arrington framed the upcoming midterms as a stark choice between the “competent, strong commander-in-chief” Americans now have and what he described as the “radical crazy” of a Democratic Party lurching left toward socialism.
‘Trump Is on the Ticket’
Host Cheryl Casone noted polling that shows Democrats leading on a generic congressional ballot and asked Arrington about the GOP convention and what Republicans hope to accomplish.
Arrington responded that the convention would be a “Texas-sized party” and a celebration of Republican governance under Trump. He ticked off what he called the results of that leadership: Americans keeping more money in their pockets, safer neighborhoods, a stronger posture on the world stage, and policies that keep boys out of girls’ sports and block “illegals” from voting.
Then came the warning.
“Trump is on the ticket, because if Democrats win, it’s going to be impeachment every day,” Arrington said. “You think the obstruction has been bad this last year and shut down after shut down. It’s going to get worse.”
Arrington argued that voters already understand this dynamic, and that the convention serves as a “good reminder” to turn out and support Republican candidates to keep the America First agenda moving forward.
‘Radical Policies’ of the Biden Years
The Texas Republican also took aim at the previous administration, saying Americans were exhausted by “the chaos and incompetence and the radical policies of the last four years under President Biden-Democrat leadership, if you call it leadership.”
He accused the Democratic Party of trying to “dismantle our institutions for democracy” and pointed to Texas as the “epicenter” of what he called Biden’s self-inflicted crises on energy and the border.
“No better place, Cheryl, to do that than in Texas,” Arrington said, referencing the party’s decision to hold its convention in the Lone Star State.
A Warning About What a Democratic House Would Mean
Arrington’s comments come as Republicans work to defend their narrow House majority. Generic ballot polls have shown Democratic enthusiasm rising, and impeachment is a live topic among progressive activists who have already floated articles against Trump over his handling of the border and other issues.
For Arrington, the math is simple: A Democratic House would not just slow the GOP agenda — it would turn Washington into a permanent battlefield.
“It’s going to be impeachment every day,” he repeated, arguing that the obstruction Republicans faced over the past year was just a preview of what a Democrat-controlled chamber would bring.
The congressman urged voters to “get out and vote” and support Republicans to keep the gains he says the country has made under Trump — more prosperity, more security, and an American quality of life he called “unmatched, unparalleled in the history of the world.”
