The outlet, citing a White House official, reported that Texas received the most visits at 46, followed by Pennsylvania with 42 and New York with 40. Iowa saw 28 trips and Michigan 25. Cabinet secretaries also traveled to Arizona, Nevada, Georgia, North Carolina, Ohio, Arkansas, Wisconsin, and New Jersey, with at least 10 visits to each of those states, according to the report.
The White House did not dispute the figures, and a spokeswoman framed the travel as part of a broader effort to stay connected to voters and tout the administration’s record.
A final-stretch campaign promise from Trump
Trump has said he will personally campaign for Republicans in 35 key races in the closing weeks before voters head to the polls, a commitment he made in early September at a White House Rose Garden dinner for lawmakers in competitive districts, according to The Daily Wire.
“I’ll be with you 100%,” Trump told the lawmakers, according to the outlet. He compared the push to his own presidential campaign, saying he would work through the final months without days off. “All I’m gonna do is work, work, work, and fight, fight, fight, and win, win, win,” he said.
The Cabinet trips coincide with a steady stream of policy announcements. On Monday, Vice President JD Vance, Attorney General Todd Blanche, and FBI Director Kash Patel announced major fraud victories from Kansas City, Missouri, per the report. That same day, Energy Secretary Chris Wright said the United States will begin refilling emergency crude reserves within a few months. The prior week, Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy launched a new space body and announced that the Federal Aviation Administration will distribute $1.1 billion in airport improvement grants nationwide.
White House touts contrast with Democrats
White House spokeswoman Olivia Wales told The Daily Wire that Cabinet members will keep meeting with “everyday Americans” in the weeks before the midterms, with the stated goals of informing future policymaking and highlighting administration wins. She said the travel will draw “a strong contrast to the record of failure by radical Democrats on the border, inflation, and crime.”
Wales praised Trump’s team as “the most talented Cabinet in history” and credited the administration with the most secure border in history, the largest middle-class tax cut ever, trillions in investment commitments, more than a million jobs created, and the lowest level of violent crime in nearly a century.
Acting Labor Secretary Keith Sonderling and Small Business Administrator Kelly Loeffler took the most trips of any Cabinet officials over the summer, a White House official told the outlet.
Party unity vs. swing-district caution
Some critics and commentators have suggested that Republicans in close races should keep their distance from the president, a dynamic that has shaped midterm strategies in past cycles. But the Republican Midterm Convention last week leaned into Trump and his administration’s record, making the case that voters should back lawmakers who will help the president advance his agenda.
Trump told the convention crowd on its first night to treat the election as a referendum on him. “I’m asking you to pretend that I’m on the ballot,” he said, according to The Daily Wire. On the second night, he joked that voters who stay home face consequences: “You know what happens if you don’t vote? You go to hell.”
The outlet reported that a White House official predicted that if Republicans hold Congress for the next two years, they will pursue greater insurance transparency, lower housing costs, a ban on congressional stock trading, and continued accountability for pharmaceutical companies.
“There are some voters that only he can motivate to get to the polls,” the official said. “And any Republican candidate would agree with that reality.”
