Trump-Backed Michael Alfonso Wins Wisconsin Congressional Race, Vows to 'Put America First'

Michael Alfonso, the Trump-endorsed Republican candidate, has won Wisconsin’s 7th Congressional District race, defeating Democrat Fred Clark in a decisive victory. According to the New York Times, Alfonso secured 56.1% of the vote, totaling 186,035 ballots, while Clark trailed with 43.9%.

A New Voice for Wisconsin

In a post on X, Alfonso expressed gratitude to voters, writing, “I’m deeply humbled that the voters of WI-7 put their trust in me.” He emphasized his commitment to prioritizing American and Wisconsin interests in Congress, framing his campaign as a fight to restore economic opportunity. “We must make the American dream affordable again,” he said, warning against what he called the “communist left” gaining influence among young voters.

Trump’s Stamp of Approval

Alfonso’s campaign received a major boost in May when former President Donald Trump endorsed him, praising him as “a WINNER all of his life” and highlighting his family background. Alfonso, the son-in-law of former Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy, positioned himself as a staunch ally of Trump’s agenda, frequently criticizing congressional inaction in supporting the former president’s policies.

During a June interview on Breitbart News Saturday, Alfonso said voters were demanding action and expressed frustration with Congress for failing to back Trump’s initiatives. His victory reinforces Trump’s continued influence in GOP primaries and general elections.

What’s Next?

As the youngest incoming member of Congress and a new father, Alfonso has framed his win as a mandate to push for policies that prioritize American prosperity. His campaign rhetoric suggests a hardline conservative approach, particularly on economic and cultural issues. With Republicans looking to expand their House majority, Alfonso’s success in a competitive district could signal broader momentum for Trump-aligned candidates in future elections.
