Daily Wire Columnist Says IDF Video Exposes ‘Hamas’s Biggest Lie’ as West’s Media Narrative Collapses

A Daily Wire opinion piece argues newly released IDF footage of a child ferrying weapons for Hamas proves the West swallowed a false narrative about the Gaza war, and warns of consequences for Europe and the U.S.

Daily Wire Columnist Says IDF Video Exposes 'Hamas's Biggest Lie' as West's Media Narrative Collapses

A Daily Wire columnist is claiming vindication after the Israel Defense Forces released what the outlet describes as footage showing a terrorist using a child to transport weapons into a civilian home in central Gaza. In the piece, published this week, the writer argues the video is a smoking gun that demolishes what the column calls “the biggest lie of the 21st century” — the idea that Hamas is the victim and Israel the villain.

The column opens with an account of an online troll who accused the writer of justifying civilian deaths and supporting murder. The writer says that exchange, and the new footage, prove the opposite: that Hamas systematically endangers children while Israel goes to extraordinary lengths to avoid harming them.

The Child Shield Footage

According to the Daily Wire account, the IDF video shows a small child carrying weapons into a civilian residence in central Gaza at the direction of a terrorist operative. The column characterizes the scene as a “literal, tiny human shield” and argues it exemplifies a broader pattern in which Hamas grooms children from a young age to assist its military operations — knowing, the writer contends, that Israel would never knowingly strike a child.

The writer labels this a “bona fide war crime, perpetrated by bona fide terrorists,” and asks how Western audiences came to accept a narrative in which Hamas is the oppressed party.

Media Missteps and Misreported ‘Journalists’

A central charge in the column is that mainstream media outlets — the BBC in particular — manufactured a false reality around the conflict. The writer asserts the BBC listed at least 53 Palestinians killed in Gaza as “journalists,” despite what the column says is evidence tying them to Hamas and other jihadist groups. The piece argues that when Western liberals expressed outrage over Israel “killing free speech” by targeting reporters, skeptics were right to dismiss the claim, since a military that maintains what the writer calls the lowest civilian-to-combatant casualty ratio in the history of urban warfare would not deliberately bomb media vehicles.

The column concludes bluntly: “‘Journalists’ in that case were code for bloodthirsty, Western-hating jihadists.”

The Starvation Claim

Another target is the widely repeated assertion that Gazans are starving. The Daily Wire piece counters that Israel has shipped more food into Gaza than into any other wartime environment in history, and cites a statistic that in 2025, two years into the conflict, 71 percent of adults in Gaza had a body mass index above 25 — a figure the columnist uses to argue that most Gazans are not undernourished and that any shortages result from Hamas diverting aid for itself.

The writer also points to what the column says were 1.1 million polio vaccinations administered to Palestinians in the last two years, arguing that a genuinely genocidal regime would not carry out such public health measures. “Benevolent, Bible-believing nations do,” the column states.

The Migration Argument

The piece broadens its critique beyond the battlefield, arguing that Western empathy has been exploited to allow terrorism into Europe and the United States. It cites several examples:

In Denmark, the column says, 321 Palestinians were admitted from Lebanon in 1992; by 2019, data showed 64 percent had been convicted of at least one crime, and of 999 children of the original refugees living in Denmark at the end of 2019, at least 34 percent had been convicted of a crime.

In the Netherlands, a Dutch university brought over a student from Gaza who, according to the column, showed classmates a video of keffiyeh-clad terrorists while narrating, “October 7th. That’s me,” and giving a thumbs-up.

In Britain, the Sunday Times reported over the weekend that the U.K. government granted citizenship to the former bodyguard of slain Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh before authorities arrested him last November for allegedly plotting terror attacks against Jewish targets in Europe.

“Great stuff, all around,” the writer adds dryly. “We could’ve just avoided all of this.”

A Warning to the West

The column closes with a series of warnings: if Western publics continue to believe media “lies,” protest on behalf of terror groups, and fixate on what the writer calls “faux genocides” while conflicts in Sudan and Nigeria go ignored, they will be conquered — and it will be their own fault.

The writer acknowledges the troll who prompted the piece but insists the facts are clear: children used as human shields, terrorists trained in classrooms from age six, and a complicit media. “I’d rather be ‘soulless’ and right than sanctimonious and wrong,” the column concludes.

The Daily Wire piece is an opinion column and reflects the outlet’s editorial stance; the claims within it — including casualty figures, the characterization of killed journalists, and the migration statistics — are presented as the writer’s assertions and have been the subject of broad dispute among international organizations, media watchdogs, and humanitarian groups.
