Daniel Baldwin: Obama 'a Criminal,' Fauci 'Should Go to Prison'

Actor Daniel Baldwin has dramatically reversed his political stance, now labeling former President Barack Obama a “criminal” and Dr. Anthony Fauci a “war criminal” who “should go to prison.” The comments came during an appearance on Bill O’Reilly’s We’ll Do It Live! podcast, as reported by Breitbart.

Baldwin, known for his role in Hawaii Five-0, admitted he was once a Democrat who supported Obama and Fauci, but now views both as figures whose legacies are tainted. “I was a Democrat. I supported Barack Obama. I look back at it now with… and I feel very bad because I think he’s going to be in big trouble. His legacy will be destroyed. He’s a criminal in my opinion,” Baldwin said, according to Breitbart.

The actor also took aim at the nation’s former top infectious disease expert, asserting, “I have a podcast that I come right out and call Anthony Fauci a war criminal. He’s a war criminal. He should go to prison, for sure. And a lot of the rest of them.”

Baldwin described himself as a “crossover” from the left to the right, acknowledging the professional risks of speaking out against liberal orthodoxy in Hollywood. He noted that many actors feel pressured to adopt left-wing views to secure work, a dynamic he says he participated in for years. “Now my phone never rings now,” he lamented, suggesting his political shift has cost him career opportunities.

The actor also discussed a perceived Hollywood blacklist against conservatives, pointing to stalled careers of actors like Dean Cain and Scott Baio. He argued that many performers remain silent about their conservative beliefs for fear of losing their livelihoods. But Baldwin predicted a cultural shift, saying, “You’re going to see production and stuff change in Hollywood in the next decade” away from what he called “woke BS.”

Baldwin’s criticism of the left is not new. In 2016, he scolded Democrats for claiming Donald Trump stole the election. Last year, he revealed that politics have driven a wedge between him and his brother, actor Alec Baldwin. “Alec and I don’t even talk,” he said on a podcast at the time.

Baldwin’s remarks come amid ongoing public debate over the COVID-19 response and the legacy of the Obama administration. He has increasingly aligned himself with conservative voices, and his appearance on O’Reilly’s platform underscores that shift.

The actor’s comments have drawn attention for their bluntness, but he maintains he is simply speaking his mind, even if it costs him. “It’s not popular to be on this side,” he said, referring to his conservative views.
