Michigan Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed has built his campaign around a promise to get big money out of politics, appearing alongside far-left surrogates like Rep. Ro Khanna who rail against the “Epstein class.” But according to a Breitbart analysis, the Muslim socialist is quietly benefiting from more than $15 million in donations linked to associates of the late disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein.
The money flows through the Senate Majority PAC (SMP), which has emerged as a major force in Michigan’s Senate race. After El-Sayed met with Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer in Washington last week, SMP poured an additional $10 million into the contest, bringing the group’s total investment in boosting El-Sayed to $30 million.
$15 Million and Counting
According to Breitbart, $15,150,000 of SMP’s donations can be traced to individuals associated with Epstein. That funding is now being directed toward electing candidates like El-Sayed in November, even as the candidate campaigns on a platform of removing such money from the political system.
SMP has been bankrolled by the same billionaire class that Democrats like El-Sayed say they want to purge from politics, the outlet reports.
Khosla’s Epstein Ties
Among the donors with documented Epstein connections is Vinod Khosla. A February 8, 2011 email from Boris Nikolic to Epstein listed Khosla as a great dinner invitee, according to a document in the Department of Justice’s online repository.
Khosla later helped Nikolic secure office space, and Epstein advised Nikolic through the arrangement, telling him to “take your office at Khosla… it will come together,” according to DOJ records dated June 14, 2014. Epstein later advised Nikolic to “find what infrastructure of khosal you can use… find a place where you can have someone over for dinner,” per DOJ records from May 31 and June 5, 2014.
In 2014, an Epstein associate suggested that he copy Jon Stryker’s playbook to bury negative press following his conviction, according to the Breitbart report.
Soros and Bloomberg Money
Two other major Democratic donors with contributions to SMP are George Soros, through his Democracy PAC, and Michael Bloomberg, through American Opportunity Action.
A 2007 article preserved in the DOJ production lists Soros and Epstein among people involved in a group seeking to establish a $10 million endowment led by Henry Jarecki.
In an FBI victim statement, Soros was implicated for being on a yacht with Jeffrey Epstein, where he witnessed the victim being sodomized and raped in a heavily drug-induced state, with the bottoms of her feet being slashed, according to Breitbart’s account of the document.
Hollywood Fundraiser Draws More Controversy
Monday also marks a major Hollywood fundraiser for El-Sayed at the home of Jeffrey Soros, the nephew of George Soros. Co-hosts include Pod Save America hosts Jon Favreau and Tommy Vietor, as well as Ben Rhodes, whom Breitbart refers to as a “Hamas fanboy,” according to a copy of the invitation.
The event underscores the financial support El-Sayed is drawing from wealthy donors even as he campaigns against the influence of money in politics and criticizes the very class of billionaires now funding his race.
The Senate Majority PAC’s expanded investment in Michigan signals the race’s growing importance to national Democrats. Schumer’s meeting with El-Sayed last week preceded the additional $10 million infusion, which brought SMP’s total spending on the race to $30 million.
Neither El-Sayed’s campaign nor SMP has responded publicly to questions about the Epstein-linked donations or the Hollywood fundraiser’s co-hosts.
