Mexican authorities have raided a storage unit connected to Thomas Markle, the estranged father of Meghan Markle, as part of an investigation into alleged child pornography. The search, conducted by the Baja California Attorney General’s Office, targeted the facility in Rosarito over the weekend.
According to reports from Proceso, law enforcement seized multiple electronic devices and storage materials, which were sent to a forensic lab for analysis. Investigators also discovered old Asian magazines, though it remains unclear whether they contained illegal content.
Storage Unit Linked to Meghan Markle’s Father
The unit reportedly belonged to Thomas Markle, who had rented it since 2017. Located near a former residence in Baja California, the storage space was allegedly abandoned after Markle stopped making payments. The Daily Mail first accessed the unit through the storage company before authorities were alerted.
The outlet claimed to have found photographs, VHS tapes, and electronic media containing suspected child exploitation material, along with references to Dark Web content. Their findings prompted contact with the FBI, which reportedly initiated the investigation.
Authorities Tight-Lipped on Details
Mexican officials have not confirmed whether charges will be filed or if Thomas Markle is personally under investigation. The seized items are undergoing forensic examination to determine their contents.
Markle, a former Hollywood lighting director, has been estranged from his daughter since before her 2018 wedding to Prince Harry. His past media controversies, including staged paparazzi photos, have fueled public tensions with the royal couple.
