Spencer Pratt Mocks Hasan Piker’s Meltdown Over Wisconsin Dem Socialist Loss

After Francesca Hong's upset loss in Wisconsin's Democratic gubernatorial primary, streamer Hasan Piker lashed out at the media and establishment Democrats — only to get roasted by Spencer Pratt.

Spencer Pratt Mocks Hasan Piker's Meltdown Over Wisconsin Dem Socialist Loss

Tuesday’s Democratic primary for Wisconsin governor delivered a shock to the left’s progressive wing, and nobody took it harder than left-wing streamer Hasan Piker — whose on-air meltdown over Francesca Hong’s defeat quickly drew mockery from reality TV star turned political commentator Spencer Pratt.

Hong, a Democratic Socialist candidate who had led some polls by more than 20 points just weeks before the election, fell to Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley in a narrow upset. Crowley, who had dropped out of the race before receiving Governor Tony Evers’ endorsement, now moves on to face Republican nominee Tom Tiffany in the general election.

According to Breitbart News, Piker — a popular Twitch streamer with a large progressive following — reacted to the loss by blaming “the fucking national media” for what he characterized as dishonest coverage of socialist candidates.

“Wake up. Corporate media is fucking lying to you. That’s it,” Piker said during his stream, according to the report. He then pointed to media coverage of other races, including Michigan’s Senate primary, where he claimed news outlets repeatedly predicted that Abdul El-Sayed would lose to Mike Rogers, saying, “He’s too Muslim.”

“There was not a single fucking poll that showed that Haley Stevens was going to outperform Abdul El-Sayed in a matchup with Mike Rogers,” Piker said. “That didn’t stop CNN, MSNBC, ABC, CBS from skipping a fucking beat every damn day of the week and saying, ‘No, Abdul’s going to lose to Mike Rogers. He’s too Muslim.'”

Piker also threatened revenge against the Democratic Party establishment, vowing that the Democratic Socialist movement would have “knives out” for establishment Democrats going forward.

It was that threat — and the broader progressive reaction — that caught the attention of Spencer Pratt, the former “The Hills” star who has reinvented himself as a political commentator. Pratt took to social media to mock Piker’s outrage.

“The DSA are freaking out that everyone is realizing Emperor Mao here has no clothes,” Pratt wrote, taking aim at Piker’s socialist politics and his nickname among critics.

Pratt’s jab appeared to resonate with his followers, many of whom have watched the reality star-turned-truth-teller carve out a niche as a provocateur in political discourse. His comment quickly spread across social media platforms, adding a layer of pop-culture-fueled ridicule to what was already a bruising night for progressives in Wisconsin.

The loss is being seen as a significant blow to the Democratic Socialist movement, which had pinned hopes on Hong’s candidacy as proof that socialist policies could win in a competitive statewide race. Hong’s polling lead had energized activists, but Crowley’s late surge — bolstered by Evers’ eventual endorsement — upended those expectations.

Political analysts note that Crowley’s victory reflects a more moderate Democratic electorate in Wisconsin, while Hong’s loss raises questions about the viability of socialist candidates in key battleground states.

For his part, Piker did not walk back his criticism of the media or the party establishment, insisting that the coverage of progressive candidates amounts to a coordinated effort to undermine them. He pointed to the Michigan race as a parallel, where he claimed media outlets ignored polling data to push a narrative favorable to more moderate candidates.

The confrontation between Piker and Pratt underscores a broader cultural and political divide within the Democratic coalition — one that is likely to intensify as the general election approaches.

Crowley, a rising figure in Wisconsin politics, will now pivot to a general election campaign against Tiffany, a conservative Republican favored in the state’s northern and western rural districts. The matchup is expected to be closely watched nationally, as Wisconsin remains one of the most contested states in presidential and gubernatorial politics.

Meanwhile, Hong’s supporters have vowed to continue their fight within the party, even as establishment forces celebrate her defeat. Piker’s promise of “knives out” suggests that the internal battle is far from over.

As the dust settles, one thing is clear: Tuesday’s primary was about more than just one candidate’s loss. It was a referendum on the direction of the Democratic Party — and the fallout is only beginning.
