Vice President JD Vance got a taste of service work Friday, pouring beers and dishing out chili dogs to customers at a beloved Cincinnati eatery, a stop that came right after he addressed workers at a steel plant in Ohio.

Vance visited Price Hill Chili in Cincinnati, where roughly 250 people had gathered, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer. Video from Fox News, posted to X, shows Vance moving behind the bar, handing out food and drinks, and chatting with patrons.

“How are you guys doing?” Vance asked a group seated at the bar as he served them, according to the video. He also shook hands with several customers during the visit.

The vice president, an Ohio native, noted he had last stopped by the “iconic chili parlor” about three years ago, per the Enquirer.

“Anyone want a beer?” Vance asked, the outlet reported, as he worked the bar.

One customer shared a photo on X of Vance serving food across the counter, captioning it: “POV: getting served a coney by @JDVance at Price Hill Chili. Welcome home to greater Cincinnati!”

The informal stop capped a day in Ohio that began with more serious business. Earlier Friday, Vance spoke to workers at the Cleveland-Cliffs Middletown Works plant in Middletown, part of the region’s steel industry.

Before heading to Cincinnati, Vance also made a quick visit to Central Pastry Shop in Middletown. While paying for his purchase, he told workers to keep the change, adding a reminder about a policy his administration has championed.

“All right, keep the change — no taxes on tip, remember,” Vance said, referencing the push to exempt tipped income from federal taxes, a proposal that has become a talking point for Republicans.

The interactions — both the steel plant speech and the casual stop at the chili parlor — underscore the administration’s focus on working-class voters in a state that remains a key political battleground. For Vance, the day offered a chance to blend policy messaging with a more personal touch.
