Declassified Memos Detail Swalwell's 'Hookup' with Chinese Spy Fang Fang

Newly declassified documents have shed fresh light on the long-rumored relationship between former Democratic Congressman Eric Swalwell and Fang Fang, a Chinese national identified by U.S. intelligence as a spy and honeypot. The memos, released Monday by Just the News, provide salacious details about encounters at Swalwell’s apartment, including an incident where he reportedly barely remembered a hookup due to taking Ambien.

According to the documents, Fang Fang visited Swalwell’s apartment at least twice. During one visit, she arrived late at night, banging on his door. A redacted individual let her in, after which she and Swalwell “hooked up.” The memo states that Fang left after a couple of hours and that Swalwell “barely remembers the event because he had taken an Ambien prior to Fang arriving.” Swalwell takes Ambien to help him sleep.

The memos also note that Fang Fang would show up to Swalwell’s apartment “not wearing any underwear,” and that Swalwell “does not remember having candles lit while she was there.”

These revelations come after years of scrutiny over Swalwell’s relationship with Fang Fang, a former Democratic bundler who reportedly had intimate ties to the congressman. The FBI had previously interviewed Swalwell about the matter, and a source on Capitol Hill confirmed to the Federalist that the two had a sexual relationship.

Despite the scandal, Swalwell remained on the House Intelligence Committee—thanks to then-Speaker Nancy Pelosi—giving him access to some of the nation’s most classified information.

Timing and Political Context

The release of these documents comes as Swalwell, who was running for Governor of California, faced mounting pressure. Earlier this year, Swalwell reportedly panicked as Kash Patel, now FBI Director, pushed to release the salacious files. Swalwell’s lawyers even sent Patel a cease and desist letter.

Conservative reporter Nick Sortor also confronted a seemingly intoxicated Swalwell about his relationship with Fang Fang, asking whether it posed a bigger national security threat than Elon Musk. Sortor claimed he sat next to Swalwell at a dinner for 90 minutes and that Swalwell was “immediately compromised by a group of…”

The Just the News release is part of the White House Government Transparency Task Force, led by John Solomon, which has been working to declassify documents related to national security and political figures.
