In mid-August, a pro-life group—led by Kristan Hawkins and her 16-year-old son—was asked to leave after quietly meeting to discuss opposing Idaho’s Proposition 1, which would allow abortions up to 24 weeks. According to a video posted by Hawkins, Sheehan compared the group to the Ku Klux Klan, despite the fact that Planned Parenthood’s founder, Margaret Sanger, had spoken to the KKK. Sheehan also said he had worked to get pro-abortion candidates on the ballot in Idaho.
The town of Driggs, located in the Teton Valley, has been rated by National Geographic as a top recreation destination, making it attractive to what the report calls “white, affluent leftists.” Census and voting data suggest the town has been “overrun by leftists” over the past two decades.
‘Deplorables’ and ‘Pioneers’
The report also details the case of a “camouflaged liberal” who ran as an independent for the county board of supervisors in Shenandoah County, Virginia, in 2019. Losing narrowly to a Republican, he later wrote a Facebook post (since deleted) thanking local Democrats and outlining his vision: “The outward push from the metropolis near us is inevitable and unstoppable. The ‘deplorables’ in our county know this … and they hate it … but in our lifetime … they will be politically outnumbered. You and our collective group of educated, intelligent, economically successful friends who already live here are sort of the ‘pioneers’ in advance of this imminent movement … until the main force arrives.”
He explained that people from the D.C. suburbs want nice homes in spectacular geography, while still being able to get back to their favorite city stores and restaurants. The report argues that such in-migration makes housing less affordable for long-time residents and masks a deeper contempt for rural communities.

According to The Federalist, conservative voter apathy is the “low-hanging fruit” that allows left-leaning newcomers to win local elections. The outlet cites Ballotpedia to note numerous municipal battlegrounds this year, particularly in Texas. “Low conservative turnout,” the report warns, is what enables “Democrat invaders to take over red areas.”
The piece also claims that Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts and Justice Amy Coney Barrett have aided this effort through decisions on immigration, birthright citizenship, and vote counting—though those assertions are presented as opinion rather than fact.

Democrats’ Messaging Problem vs. Ground Game
Despite their perceived contempt, the report argues that Democrats are organized and effective. “They can’t seem to hide their contempt, though they may try at times. But the left is very organized, and their outward contempt will not cost them in the midterms if conservatives in those areas do not show up to vote.”
The article urges conservatives to build a “ground game” to improve turnout in small towns and rural areas, warning that otherwise, “a motley mix of invaders and useful idiots” could take control of local governments.
