Brown and Usher launched their co-headlining “R&B Tour” — a name nodding to both the genre and the performers’ shared initials — in June. The run has already generated a series of viral clips beyond Saturday’s political cameo, including audience interactions during both artists’ sets.
Crockett, who represents Texas’s 30th Congressional District, has been a prominent figure in national Democratic politics. She lost the state’s Democratic Senate primary to Talarico in March by an eight-point margin.
The congressional record entry marks a notable intersection of pop culture and legislative business, a gesture Crockett framed as a celebration of the artists’ contributions to music.
