Another Surenos gang member, Jhony Mejia of Honduras, was also removed after being convicted of attempted willful murder, possession of a sharp instrument by an inmate, and obstructing a public officer.
Jose Enrique Galindo-Arteaga, a Mexican national affiliated with the Paisas gang, was deported following a conviction for sexual assault. In a separate case, Carlos Narciso Villarreal, a Mexican national and Bloods gang member, was removed after convictions for attempted breaking or entering and possession of stolen goods. ICE also noted that Villarreal had been arrested for domestic violence, assault on a female, breaking and entering, and injury to personal property.
Drug Offenses Among Deportation Cases
The enforcement action also targeted gang members involved in drug trafficking. Miguel Andres Veras Martes, a Trinitarios gang member from the Dominican Republic, was deported after being convicted of manufacturing, delivering, and possessing with intent to distribute Schedule I and Schedule II controlled substances. His record also includes convictions for carrying dangerous weapons while committing a violent crime, reckless driving, and receiving stolen goods.
