A series of shootings across two residences and a wooded area in Missaukee County, Michigan, left five people dead on Friday, according to local reports.
Police responded to calls about a shooting at a residence shortly before 11:40 a.m., according to UpNorthLive. Upon arrival, officers found three people dead and a fourth critically wounded. Subsequent searches led to the discovery of another deceased individual at a second residence and a fifth body near a wooded area by Whitlock Lake.
Authorities identified 39-year-old Chad Hickman as the suspected shooter, whose body was also recovered at the scene, according to the report. The identities and ages of the other victims have not yet been released.
The initial alert to authorities came from an unidentified 13-year-old, who told dispatchers she had been shot in the arm, the Daily Mail reported. Details about the teenager’s condition and relationship to the victims were not immediately available.
