Federal immigration authorities are moving to take custody of a Jamaican national accused of stabbing two fast-food workers during a dispute at a Florida Burger King, according to a Department of Homeland Security spokesperson.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents lodged a detainer against Shaquiel Sheldon Williams the same day he was arrested by the Bay County Sheriffâs Office, Breitbart News has learned. Williams, an illegal alien from Jamaica, faces two counts of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon in connection with the August 13 attack.

According to police, Williams was at a Burger King in Panama City Beach when he became involved in an argument with employees. Authorities allege Williams refused to pay for food he had ordered, then stabbed two employees before fleeing the scene on foot.
Williams was tracked down and arrested shortly after the incident. The two victims were rushed to a nearby hospital and treated for non-life-threatening stab wounds.
The detainer lodged by ICE means the agency is seeking to take Williams into federal custody after local criminal proceedings conclude. Williams entered the United States in December 2023 on a visa but overstayed after failing to depart by January 2024, according to the DHS spokesperson.
âIf it werenât for the Biden administration letting him in, he never would have been in our country and this attack never would have happened,â the DHS spokesperson said. âICE will work with our partners in Florida to make sure this thug is removed from our country after he faces justice.â
